Atlanta – From humble beginnings
Atlanta had a humble beginning as a settlement located at the intersection of two railroad lines. It was incorporated in eighteen hundred and forty five. Presently, the city is a major business one. It is also the primary transportation hub of the South eastern United States whether it is through highway, railroad or air. Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport is considered the busiest airport of the world.

Atlanta is a black majority city and is the fourth largest black majority city in United States. Atlanta homes world headquarters of companies like Coca-Cola, Turner broadcasting, The Home Depot, AT&T Mobility, UPS and Delta Air Lines. Atlanta also does not lag behind in tourism. It is the seventh most visited city in United States.

Coca Cola was launched in Atlanta in eighteen hundred and eighty six and grew into city based world empire. The arrival of electric streetcars was also an important event making for growth of city.  Atlanta sits atop a ridge located south of Chattahoochee River at three hundred and twenty meters above sea level. Atlanta homes humid subtropical climate and receives abundant rainfall typical of southeastern United States.  Architecture in Atlanta is dominated by modernism and postmodernism especially in its commercial and institutional buildings. Structures pre eighteen hundred and eighty are not to be seen. Residential areas in intown neighbourhoods are characterized by styles ranging from Victorian cottages to Craftsman bungalows to Revival styles.
